Launch of the Greek Data Center Association to Advance the Data Center Sector and Strengthen the Digital Economy

Athens, May 5, 2025:

The growing demand for data, driven by evolving user needs, combined with the urgent requirement for more efficient and sustainable data center infrastructure in Greece, as well as the country’s strategic location in Southeastern Europe and its emerging role as a digital hub, is fueling continuous investment in this rapidly developing sector.

With the goal of strengthening and advancing the industry, the Greek Data Center Association (GRDCA) has been established. This nonprofit organization represents the collective economic, legal, commercial, and technical interests of companies operating, building, or owning data centers in Greece.

Among the founding members is CORDIA, a company actively engaged in the design, construction, and management of advanced technological infrastructure with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation. CORDIA’s participation in GRDCA marks a strategic milestone, perfectly aligned with its commitment to contributing meaningfully to Greece’s digital transformation by delivering services and solutions that support reliable and “green” development of digital infrastructure.

For CORDIA, joining GRDCA is a declaration of active involvement in the collective effort to build a robust and competitive data center ecosystem in Greece. Through the Association, CORDIA will contribute its know-how, experience, and vision while collaborating with top providers and stakeholders to create conditions that attract international investment and foster technological progress.

Recognizing the strategic role of data centers in the digital economy, the Association will work to promote industry representation at exhibitions, institutions, and through international partnerships. It will also foster stakeholder awareness, encourage consultation, and facilitate dialogue on critical issues affecting the sector.

As part of its activities, the Association is committed to adhering to competition regulations, implementing safeguarding mechanisms, and adopting codes of conduct that promote transparency and fair development in the industry. In doing so, it aims to become a strong representative body, enhancing Greece’s position as a key hub for data centers and digital connectivity.

The Association’s founding members include:
Digital Realty Hellas, Data 4 Greece, TI Sparkle Greece MAE, Schneider Electric, LDK Consultants, JEPA, Hill International, IFSAS, CORDIA, and Bluesun.

Mr. Alexandros Bechrakis, President and CEO of Digital Realty Hellas, has been appointed as the Association’s Administrator and Chairman of the Board.

The first Board of Directors includes representatives from:
Digital Realty Hellas, Data 4 Greece, TI Sparkle Greece MAE, and Schneider Electric.
