Energy Audit

According to Greek Law 4342/2015 (Government Gazette 9/11/2015) which was harmonized with the national framework by Directive 2012/27/EU, requires enterprises that are not SMEs to conduct energy audits. Y.A οικ. 175275/30.5.2018 addressed concerns related to energy audits.

Energy Audit Obligators

· Companies with over 250 employees or
· Companies with less than 250 employees and an annual turnover of more than € 50,000,000.

The goal of energy audits is to improve energy efficiency and energy savings, particularly through building intervention programs or increased penetration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), as well as to improve operation and thus strengthen competition in the electricity market.

Obligation to re-audit: within four (4) years from the year of the last energy audit.
Alternatively,
Obliged organizations may be excluded from conducting an Energy Audit if they are certified with Energy Management System (ISO 50001), which includes the performance of energy audit.
